Matthew Fergusson-Stewart, Glenfiddich Regional Brand Ambassador in Asia Pacific was named Scotch Whisky Brand Ambassador of the Year 2017, an award bestowed by Icons of Whisky.
Icons of Whisky searches for the most iconic figures and companies in the world of whisky every year. The awards highlight the growing popularity of this wonderful spirit by showcasing the vast array of producers and individuals offering innovative and exciting products on a global scale. The larger industry nominated their icons online before the Whisky Magazine editorial panel whittled each category down to a shortlist of five. Following voting and a final review by the panel, the winners were chosen.

About Matthew Fergusson-Stewart
Matthew Fergusson-Stewart, or more popularly known in the whisky community as the Son of Whisky, is currently the face of Glenfiddich. Born in 1976, the native Western Australian first encountered whisky while studying chemistry at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in Perth. Matthew gained his first appreciation for the liquid after seeing how three simple ingredients – water, malted barley and yeast – can fuse together in a perfect harmony to produce the greatest diversity of flavour and aroma characteristics in any spirit.
He also appointed as Glenfiddich’s regional brand ambassador for Asia Pacific this year. Mathew certainly does not shy away when it comes to diving deep into the Glenfiddich brand and the appreciation for whisky in Asia.
Based in Singapore, Matthew combines his love for both whisky and Asia in his role as regional brand ambassador. Drawing on his knowledge of both the area and Scotch, he mentors a team of ambassadors to spread the word about this hugely celebrated and world-renowned single malt.
