Johnnie Walker Ushers in Chinese New Year with Commemorative Bottle Designs

It’s almost that time of the year again, where one gets to make merry, eat a lot of good food, and enjoy a good drink or two with friends and relatives…for 3 days in a row.

Drinks and delicacies aside, Chinese New Year is a time for mutual generosity and open-handedness as angpows are exchanged and gifts are given. For those of us who  also enjoy art, beauty, and scotch whisky, Johnnie Walker has come up with a set of different bottle designs to commemorate the occasion. All are from the premium Blue Label range, so for those looking to impress, this will combine a limited edition style with delicious malt substance. We’ll let the artwork on the bottles speak for themselves.

Keep Walking China

A beautiful white bottle inspired by traditional Chinese paintings, this special edition bottle forms a gorgeous piece of art when four bottles are placed side by side. The ivory-white bottle stands out from the  standard dark Johhnie Walker bottles, but this is all to the good.  Limited to 96 bottles in Singapore at $588 each for a 750ml bottle.

Fu Lu Shou Collection

This 3 bottle collection depicts the deities Fu, Lu and Shou (“Fortune”, “Prosperity” and “Longevity”, each engraved in exacting detail on each bottle. For those of us who are hoping to enjoy those blessings, this makes for a handsome gift. The collection is sold as a set of three bottles (750ml each) at $888. Only 15 sets available in Singapore

Year of the Rooster Bottle

To celebrate the coming year of the rooster more directly, Johnnie Walker has created a set of bottles with a rooster motif in four forms— the Herald, the Prospector, the Pioneer, and the Adventurer. More understated than the other designs, but we appreciate its subtlety. Only 90 bottles are available in Singapore, priced at $330 for a 1 litre bottle

Zodiac Collection

Why stop at a rooster when you can get the entire zodiac? Each of the celestial zodiac is etched in gold on a 1 litre bottle. If you’re particularly prosperous, this makes for a very stylish collectors’ item. Limited to only 8 sets, the collection is available for purchase at $5888.

The Keep Walking China, Fu Lu Shou and Zodiac collections are  available through Diageo’s Private Client service at the Johnnie Walker House Singapore. The Year of the Rooster collection is available online or at specialist liquor retail stores.
